TEST PREPARATION QUESTION DATABANK: BoardVitals

A USMLE and exam preparation tool available from the Stat!Ref gateway, BoardVitals Question Bank provides questions that can be reviewed for Shelf Exams in family medicine, internal medicine, neurology, OBGYN, pediatrics, surgery, as well as for USMLE Steps 1, 2, and 3. Although access to other resources in the STAT!Ref platform requires no additional login, due to the nature of BoardVitals, a user must create an account with a northwestern.edu email address and sign-in for access and use of the question bank. Once logged in, it is possible to create customized practice tests, see explanations with each answer, and view statistics as well as suggested questions based on performance.

Thomson Reuters (Web of Science)

Recently there have been some search platform changes that enhance a familiar Northwestern University Library-licensed database. Additionally, a new resource is now available.

For some time, access to Journal Citation Reports (JCR) has been available to the NU community. Recent enhancements include more visualization capabilities. The aim of JCR, which is updated annually, continues to be the provision of quantifiable, statistical information based on citation data, measuring research influence and impact at the journal and category levels. It shows the relationship between citing and cited journals.

The newly available Essential Science Indicators (ESI) is searchable on a similar platform as JCR, but its focus is the compilation of statistical information (publication, citation, and cites-per-paper counts) for scientists, institutions, countries, and journals, based on 10 years of Thomson Reuters data.
