On March 23, 2011, Galter Library staff member, Gerald Battle, reshelved the last volume returned from the Google Books Project. Galter's portion of Northwestern University's contribution to the Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC) Google Digitization project is now done. Library staff spent six months processing materials from our book, journal and thesis collections. Staff reviewed, checked out, packaged and reshelved roughly four times more items than would normally circulate in a year.
The Northwestern University libraries have created an overview page for the project, which includes FAQs and information on options if a book you need from the libraries' collections is away being digitized at Google.
