Specialized computers and software in the LRC
Galter Library's Learning Resources Center (LRC) has a group of 6 computers (4 Windows PCs and 2 Macs) equipped with software packages dedicated to handling statistical and bioinformatics workflows. These packages include:
- R & R Studio (open source statistical software)
- Vector NTI
- Atlas.ti (text analysis software)
- GraphPad Prism
- Partek Genomics Suite (one Windows PC only)
- Golden Helix SNP & Variation Suite (one Mac only)
In addition, these computers have standard productivity software (Microsoft Office suite and the Adobe Creative Cloud).
The research computers are located in the LRC, which is accessible during regular library hours and after the library closes through WildCard access to the LRC Extended Hours space.
Users who wish to use the specialized software on these computers will take precedence over users who may be using the computers for non-bioinformatics or statistical analysis. Users are encouraged to seek assistance from Galter staff if they wish to use a computer that is occupied by another user who is not using the specialized software.
