Contributing to Open Access: Biostatistics Collaboration Center

PDF

Open access week logo 2023It’s International Open Access Week! Every October libraries, societies, publishers, and authors around the world promote openness as a pathway to knowledge equity and a tool to address the inequalities that shape societies. This year’s theme is Community over Commercialization designed to encourage “a candid conversation about which approaches to open scholarship prioritize the best interests of the public and the academic community—and which do not.” This Open Access Week we are excited to highlight some of the contributions being made to Open Access here at Feinberg.

Biostatistics Collaboration Center

The mission of the Biostatistics Collaboration Center is to support the health-related research carried out by Feinberg investigators at all stages of the research process and provide educational services and resources.

The Biostatistics Collaboration Center Lecture Series provides information on biostatistics in medical research, and these lectures are currently accessible in Prism, Feinberg’s institutional repository that helps openness, maximizes reproducibility, and enhances research connections. About their decision to upload these materials here, they say:

Prism makes it easy to share materials and keep them all in one place, providing a long-term home for past lectures and other educational resources for others to access.

Prism is an institutional repository for Feinberg School of Medicine and is available for all community members to upload and share their scholarly outputs. It may be accessed here. The Prism Galter Guide provides more information and guidance on how to use the institutional repository to raise the profile of your research.
