Wilson first joined Galter Library in 2020 and has served as both Library Assistant in Access Services and Communications Coordinator in Administration where she advanced research support and communication strategies. She has also contributed to national research initiatives, including the Network of the National Library of Medicine’s National Evaluation Center and the Generalist Repository Ecosystem Initiative, creating infographics, resource guides, and visual narratives that translate data into insight.
Before Northwestern, Wilson worked as a Data Coordinator and Accreditation Assistant at North Park University, supporting data collection and reporting for university-wide assessment and the Higher Learning Commission Accreditation. She also served as a Copy Cataloging Coordinator at Brandel Library where she developed a strong foundation in metadata standards, collection development, and library systems. These experiences gave her a comprehensive understanding of how libraries support institutional goals, program evaluation, and scholarly infrastructure.
Wilson holds a B.A. in English Literature and Creative Writing from North Park University and recently completed a UX/UI Design Certificate from Northwestern, deepening her expertise in information design, strategy, and human-centered communication. She is excited to collaborate with an established team dedicated to supporting and amplifying Northwestern’s research expertise and impact.
Galter is thrilled that Emma Wilson will step into the role of Research Impact & Communications Librarian, confident that she will advance research practices that are equitable, transparent, and impactful. The library looks forward to the expertise she will bring to open science, bibliometrics, and scholarly communication to support holistic research lifecycles across disciplines.
