Library Classes: Introduction to Galter

An overview of the Galter Library's operations, services, and resources, this class includes a tour of both the physical and electronic libraries and an introduction to NUcat, Northwestern University's online catalog.

CLASS OBJECTIVES: At the completion of this class, the participant will:

  • Understand the operation and physical layout of the Galter Library to facilitate independent use
  • Understand how to locate library materials using Northwestern University's online catalog, NUcat
  • Be aware of available resources, including print and electronic journals, databases, and educational software
  • Know how to access available library services (e.g., Reference Assistance and Remote Access)
